    Over road company in Ohio said fill your tanks half full? Ok? So they loaded me up a little heavy Unfortunately, I was close to 79,899. The problem was that company only filled up at certain diesel stations? What I found out was when I was running from Colorado to Montana. I was too heavy didn’t have enough fuel! And turns out that you can only fuel up every couple hours if you’re within that two hours you wind up sitting at that gas station until two hours is up to get Fuel! From Colorado to Butte Montana because Fuel was set up that way! I filled up like 12 times I was like two days behind! Because sometimes I came with that two hour limit! And I got into a tight spot. I actually had to drive to another state like 200 miles the opposite direction just to get fuel! It was crazy! On top of that diesel fuel Wieght is 7 pounds per gallon?

    how I would figure out, how many tons to load in the trailer? scale the truck while hooked to a empty trailer. Check that gross weight and minus that weight from 80,000 LBS and that’s how much I would put inside the trailer or close to that number as I could get without going over gross, then I would scale a second time while loaded and see where my gross weight is at 80,000 LBS. total and see where my axle weights are at on the truck and on the trailer. for example, 12,000 LBS on the steer axle 34,000 LBS. on the drive axles and 40,000 pounds on the trailer axles if you have a spread axle meaning both spread axles can be 20,000 LBS. each combined for total trailer axle weight 40,000 LBS. This =total gross weight of 80,000 LBS but if you have a tandem axle trailer? Then the weights will be slightly different Steer axle weight of 12,000 LBS. Drive axles 34,000 LBS trailer tandems weight should be no more than 34,000 IBS. for total combined gross weight of 80,000 LBS.

    What does an inexperienced driver have to do to drive a truck. Does it cost to take the class or does Oakley pay to train and get license?

    • @OakleyTruckingInc
      @OakleyTruckingInc 8 дней назад

      To be qualified to lease on with Oakley you would need to have at least 2 yrs of OTR experience. We dont have a training program here. You would need to go to driving school to obtain your class A CDL and then work for a company for a couple years to gain some experience.
